are you getting the results you want?

“I love my workouts because they’re really HARD!!” - sound familiar?

Since most group fitness classes are cardio-based, people get used to feeling exhausted, dripping in sweat, and totally spent after every workout. I get it. Surviving a ridiculously challenging workout feels like an accomplishment. And I’m not saying you should never do them, you should! Just not every single day.

I won’t go into all the reasons why you need strength training in addition to cardio today. Why lifting heavy with ample rest will yield far better results than running around doing random exercises for speed for 60 minutes straight. I’ve already written about that plenty and will surely write about it again :)

Here’s the real question: how has your approach been working for you?

Are you happy with the way you look in the mirror and how your clothes fit? Or do you feel like you’re BURNING SO MANY CALORIES but not losing weight!

Do you wake up in the morning feeling energized and ready for your next workout? Or are you immediately reminded of your aches and pains, wishing you could stay in bed?

Are you improving your form and increasing your weights on a regular basis? Or are you exactly where you were when you started weeks, months, maybe even years ago? 😬

Now let’s be clear, other factors contribute to how you look, feel, and perform beyond your workouts. But exercise plays a huge role - especially if you’re putting in the time and effort.

If you’ve been doing the same workouts but aren’t getting the results you want, it’s time to ask yourself - how’s this working for me? Even if it’s what you’re used to, even if it’s hard, and even if the instructor promises that your life will change if you “just keep pushing!”

If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting what you’ve always gotten.
